Frequently Asked Questions

Where is Honey-Belle Cakery Based?

Honey-Belle Cakery is based in Maitland NSW Australia, it is not a store or shop front, just a kitchen and a busy Caker.

How far in advance should I enquire/book for a custom made or wedding cake?

For Bespoke & Wedding Cakes there is no set ‘recommended time frame’ you should enquire...some dates will be booked out for months whereas on other dates I will have availability to accommodate an order with only little notice. I would suggest to send in your enquiry as soon as possible. I will take wedding cake bookings no further than 12 months in advance.

How much are your Bespoke Wedding cakes?

This does depend on what size, flavour/s, and design you choose.

Though to give you a rough estimate please use the starting prices listed on page two of the information file. Click Here to view file.

Can you accommodate for Gluten Free, Dairy Free and Vegan?

Absolutely! I am very understanding of all dietary requirements and eating choices. It is important to me that nobody misses out, especially on dessert!

Most cake flavours in my Bespoke & Wedding cake menu can be made GF and I have a range of vegan options too.

If you have a small handful of guests that require dietary requirements I can offer additional individual small cakes to cater for them.

Cake Transportation

If you’re picking up your cake, your cake will be in a box. If you do not have a helper or someone to nurse the cake in their flat lap, I recommended that your boxed cake sits flat on the passenger side floor or in the boot of the car- sounds crazy! but I assure you, it is the safest place for your traveling cake as it will move with the car. I also recommend that you pop something underneath the box like a towel or blanket so the box has something to grip on to and wont slide around the car floor. Once the cake leaves the hands of Honey-Belle Cakery, I cannot take any responsibility of damage in relation to how the cake was travelled or handled.

How do I store my cake after delivery/collection?

All cakes from the online products range come with a 'storage/care card', this gives you all the information and advice you need to store your cake correctly to ensure you get the best eating experience. If we are in the warmer months cakes will almost always need to go into a fridge. Cake is best eaten at room temp so please remove from fridge 1-2 hours before serving for better cutting and eating.

For wedding cakes, display and storage will be predicted based on your event, room temperature, frosting kind and most importantly the weather at the time.

My florist is going to supply my wedding cake flowers, is this ok?

If your chosen florist will be providing your cake flowers, this is completely fine and will also mean your cake, bouquets and decor arrangements will all tie in perfectly.

However, when it comes to decorating cakes with fresh flowers, I do prefer to do this myself as this is a huge part of my creative input in styling my cakes. I like to hold the fresh flowers and foliage in my own hands, get an idea of what I am working with and then work my creative magic for all my cakes.

Most florists have the skill and creativity to decorate cakes with flowers, though having them do so takes away from my creative input.

If your florist is supplying your cake flowers, I do just ask that you notify them that I will be decorating the cake. It is also important that they provide flowers that are not cut, stripped, wired, taped or prepped in any way (I prefer to do his work myself while decorating your cake on the day).

Depending on the cake design you have chosen, be sure to let your florist know to set aside a decent amount of fresh flowers and foliage for the me- the cake maker-Variety and Generosity is KEY!!!

Florals can be left at the venue for me in water upon my arrival or arranged to be collected another way.

Do you create fondant cakes?

Nope! Honey-Belle Cakery strictly does not use fondant to coat custom or Wedding cakes. Honey-Belle Cakery works with buttercreama nd other fillings/frostings.

Do you offer wedding cake tastings?

Honey-Belle Cakery also offers Taster Boxes which are offered on a scheduled date every three months. Each box includes 6 samples of cake in the form of cupcakes and baby cake loaves and are $45. Taster Boxes are a great way to experience the taste and quality of a Honey-Belle Cake. Taster Boxes are best eaten at room temperature while relaxing with your loved one and a hot cuppa. Taster boxes are recommended for 2 people to share. If you'd like to share with some friends simply order two.
